im very proud for this philippine made site. absolutely one of the best prescriptions of nostalgia (1,000 mg, 24 x a day). to imbobway of nigeria (comment dated 10/19/98), in every country there are stupid and decent people around so its very unethical to generalized everybody. well, in your case, you are the stupidest black in nigeria. invite me in a furom (any place you want) or click on my e-mail add if you want. to the website, thanks for the space. to all cebuanos, try to visit cybercebu. salamat.

Howdy! kababayans, here I am again visiting your site. I just noticed that, when I read over some entries dating back to 19th of October '98, comments of "mfs" whoever the heck is his name, that offended me very much ; him saying that Philippines is the stupidest country in the world and you know what he did not even spell the word country right. I don't have to be broadminded to understand what he is saying, but I think, it is such an insult to all Filipinos you know. I think, he need someone to tell him infront of his face, that it is not so nice to judge anyone, whereever in the world you come from. V. Gray V.L. Gray <yargvirge @ worldnet.att.net>

We'll be visiting P.I. in the next couple of months, I'm very excited, I hope it will be a good visit soon. Once again thanks much for the space.....and more power to all Filipinos out there.......Catch ya'll later. Virginia L. Gray <yargvirge @ worldnet.att.net>

I really love your website on the Philippines, but it gives
me the most horrible case of homesickness. I am a
half-pinay military brat who spent more than half of my life
until I was 17 in the Philippines (Clark AFB -
Angeles City.) Periodically, my mother and I, along with
which ever other relative(s) was living with us at the time,
used to take an 18 hour bus ride on the Rabbit, then a ride
on a jeepney and finally a bumpy ride on a tricycle to
Ilocos Norte (the barrio) to visit my relatives. My fondest
memories are of going to Ilocos. We had no running water
( I had to gather water from the well and take a bath
outside - in a discreet area of course) and no indoor
toilet (the outhouse was way in the back of the farm -
make sure you go before it gets dark.) I believe the beach
there is probably one of the most beautiful, if not the
most beautiful, in the world. My cousins and I would walk
through the rice fields (please try not to fall in!),
and up and down the sand dunes (all in flip flops at least
two sizes too big which I had borrowed from one of my
relatives because I always inevitably forgot mine) to
behold the most glorious view of waves far out in the
distance rushing toward us. Ahh... Hopefully, I
will be able to take a long visit back home soon. I
am seriously craving some bbq pusit, lansones, santol,
rambutan, and marungay not to mention that wonderful
feeling you get when you're riding side saddle on the back
of a tric. Thanks for sharing your wonderful memories with
us all. Oh, sige!

Enjoyed this "Adventure" very much. Lani wouldn't have to convince me to go to the Phillipines. I fell in love with the country in September, and go back often. The US Dollar goes far, and places like Boracay where I went scuba diving are insanely inexpensive. I am going again next month and look foward to the food, culture and hospitality. There is even a Starbucks Coffee in Manilla Makati City!
This site is worthy of an Award.

Des Plaines, IL USA - Thursday, January 14, 1999 at 11:55:17 (EST)To me, the hi-light of my 1992 visit to the Philippines was the crucifiction of 3 men in San Fernando during the Easter weekend.
This was really cool while at the same time a very religious experience. Ted <rclamont@ozemail.com.au>
Australia - Thursday, January 14, 1999 at 07:42:33 (EST) The comments made by some individuals are certainly insulting to the Filipino people. To say that most Filipinos dream of being American citizens is generalising at best.Americans introduced the English language here on a broad scale and most are thankful for that. What disgusts me is the number of brothels and bars that opened to satisfy the Americans desire for seedy nightlife. The Spanish enhanced our own culture and the Americans poisoned it.We as Filipinos love our country and are proud of our heritage. Not all of us prefer to speak American English. Karen seems to think that is the language of native Americans(what is a native American?????).It is not even correct or standard English.
I wish the two writers could have waited until they understood our country and people a little more before writing what they did.Two years here would be advisable, not only two weeks.
For all you drug addicts who plan to come for a visit, prepare to suffer.Scum are treated liked scum should be treated.

(It's -21C here and we had @ 20cm of snow today; {that is if my conversion from English to Metric are correct}. used to "Enjoy at the Swan" as the sign said in the Diamond sub-divison and have dinner at Papaguio's and Chu-Chi's.
Would enjoy visiting your country again but it probably will never happen.

pusan, korea - Wednesday, August 26, 1998 at 20:27:46 (EDT)Yes, Philippines is really a beautiful country and I really feel sorry that I have to leave my country and work somewhere else. I just wish that our country would be more economically stable though so that we people need not to leave our beautiful country and work. I was visiting the US last month and frankly speaking I was not really impressed, I was always comparing whatever I've seen there to what we have in our country and it's like whatever you got there, we have it in the Philipines, too, except Manhattan, of course, it's realy a nice city. Anyway, it's good to know that lots of people do appreciate our country and we are very glad that you all want to spend your vacation in our country.

Huddersfield, UK - Sunday, June 14, 1998 at 19:05:35 (EDT)BROWSING ON THIS WEBSITE SURPRISED ME AND MADE ME PROUD THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE FROM ABROAD HAVE ENJOYED COMING OVER AND GOT SATISFIED VACATIONING IN SOME OF THE BEAUTIFUL SPOTS HERE ESPCIALLY IN BORACAY ISLAND. YES, EVEN I WAS FASCINATED WITH BORACAY'S SPECIAL FEATURES AND THAT'S THE REASON I BOUGHT A SMALL PROPERTY THERE WHERE I CAN STAY WHENEVER ME AND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAVE THE TIME AND WANTED TO RE-CHARGE OUR "BATTERIES". ANYWAY, TO THOSE WHO WOULD WANT TO KNOW SOME MORE ABOUT BORACAY, I WOULD SAY THAT THE BEST MONTHS OF THE YEAR WHERE ONE COULD ENJOY THEIR STAY IS ON SUMMER MONTHS OF JANUARY TO MAY. ALTHOUGH STILL RAINY SEASON, THE MONTHS OF JULY TO DECEMBER ARE ALSO OK. RAINS COME ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE IN BORACAY DURING THE DAYS OF THESE MONTHS. ALTHOUGH SMALL AND SIMPLE, MY HOUSE IS LOCATED IN A FENCED COMPOUND. IT IS COMFORTABLE TO STAY WITH AMENETIES LIKE TELEPHONE W/IDD, CABLE TV, EMERGENCY POWER GENERATOR AND AMPLE SUPPLY OF WATER COMING FROM A DEEP WELL WITH AN OVERHEAD TANK FOR STORAGE. AND ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT SITUATED ALONG THE BEACH, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF 3 MINUTES WALK COMING FROM A QUIET LOCATION AWAY FROM THE CROWDED AND NOISY AREAS. IF YOU WISH TO LOOK FOR A PLACE LIKE I MENTIONED AND PLAN TO COME OVER WHEN IT IS NOT OCCUPIED IT IS AVAILABLE FOR RENT. IT CAN ALSO BE LEASED FOR LONGER TERM STAY AT VERY RESONABLE PRICE. IF YOU ARE A GOLFER, THE GOLF COURSE LOCATED 5 MINUTES AWAY VIA THE PEDICAB IS NOW PLAYABLE. WHEN IN MANILA, YOU CAN BE MY GUEST AT THE SOUTHWOOD GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB WHERE I AM A MEMBER. PLEASE CONTACT ME THROUGH MY E-MAIL FOR MORE INFORMATIONS.

I need some help. I have a friend from the Philipines who was living in California, but then moved back to her homeland. She sends me letters now and again but never puts a return address.
Her letters are postmarked from Valencue. From our conversations I could tell that she had some influence in the Philipines, I believe because of her father. She was one of the only girls to be
in the military, marine academy over there and has some pictures with some high class citizens. Her name is Lourdes Gonzaga and recently returned to the Philipines about 6 months ago. If anybody has
any information about how I can get a hold of her or who she is, please e-mail me and let me know. She was a good friend and I am worried about her due to the content of her letters. Thank you.

PARIS, FRANCE - Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at 07:42:47 (EST)I was born in Norwich, Connecticut, but grew up in Iriga City, Phil. (Bikol). My husband (Robert) and I enjoyed reading your page. It made me more homesick (I spoke to my relatives in the Nueva-Ramos clan earlier today; they were celebrating the Annual Familly Reunion). I would like to invite everybody to visit Bikol . You will enjoy the numerous beaches, Mayon volcano, hot springs, exploring caves, mountain climbing, fishing, other water sports and activities, sightseeing, food especially Bikol delicacies and most of all the people (Bikolanos). We are planning to go back in the Philippines for a visit in December next year. This will be my husband's first visit to the P.I., so he is really excited . I would like to say "hello" to all my relatives in the Nueva-Ramos and Bagaporo-Delima families, my classmates in La Consolacion Academy, Iriga City; graduated in 1983 and to my college classmates and friends in the University of Northeastern Philippines, Iriga City, BSN Class 1986-87. Mabuhay ang Filipino.

Calera, AL USA - Sunday, December 21, 1997 at 13:52:44 (EST)I really liked most of the pictures you've featured in this page, especially the ones in Palawan, Taal and the terraces. I must say it was very interesting. However, I don't really think it's necessary to include a link, no less, on the bathrooms. Cyberdudes are not interested to see johns. We could've been more discreet guys! I'm sure there are a lot more places to visit than that, I mean these places you've been to aren't even IT yet...so I'm quite disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud to be Pinoy especially now that I'm here in the U.S., but if I were to promote my country to encourage tourists to visit, bathrooms wouldn't really be included in my agenda.

Melbourne, Victoria Australia - Friday, December 12, 1997 at 02:00:44 (EST)Great site! Definitely the best on the Philippines I have
seen to date. The most amusing part of it all was the
communication part. I am full-blooded Filipino, but was born
in Washington, DC, and have never lived there. Due to my
looks, I am spoken to in Tagalog everywhere I go, but I answer
in English and always get funny looks for that. I would seem
completely illiterate if I answered in Tagalog because of the
American accent that I have.
"Cultural oddities" was great as well. Some of these things,
amazingly enough, did not seem like such oddities until I got
to college and have lived with all Americans for the past
two and a half years.

Blacksburg, VA USA - Tuesday, December 09, 1997 at 00:26:10 (EST)Wow ! What a great page. I enjoyed every moment, what great pictures, as an American newly married to a Philippina and just back from my first visit I can really identify with your thoughts. We spent four weeks in the Phils, Cebu, Bohol, (The wifes home province) Boracay, Cagan de Oro, Baguio city and Manilla. I enjoyed our time in the Barangay in the "Boondocks" of Bohol, the most. Very primitive but comfortable and unbelieveably friendly. Boracay was expensive, Cagan was beautiful and the only difference between Manila, Hell, and a Doctors office, is the Doctors office has old Magazines.

Anchorage, AK USA - Friday, October 17, 1997 at 19:29:48 (EDT)It was very refreshing to see your website. I am visiting the Philippines this Christmas and I am doing a little research to make my trip more fun and adventurous. Could someone who is reading this give me some tips on an enjoyable vacation? I want to break the typical pattern of the " visiting a different uncle's house everyday" type vacation. I want to discover culture!

FL USA - Monday, September 22, 1997 at 03:37:31 (EDT)Great Job! I enjoyed reading your adventure in the Philippines. I just visited my native island "Cebu, Philippines" in May of '97. I have a wonderful time with my dear brothers, sisters, relatives, and friends. If someone is planning to visit the Philippines, try to visit "Cebu island". I'm sure you will enjoyed the crystal clear water and white sand beaches. There are plenty of nice hotels to stay in and restaurants to dine in. Also you can find a nice mall in "Banilad, Cebu" to do some shopping or just to eat. Some new hotels were built near the Mactan International Airport but probably it cost slightly a little bit more than the hotels in Cebu City. Cebu is one of the many famous tourist attractions in the Philippines because of their known beautiful beaches and nice people, too. I know very much Cebu because I was born and lived there for 23 years. I miss Cebu very much! I also enjoyed reading some guest comments. I'm glad that Gary Chronister of Las Vegas, Nevada enjoyed Cebu during his visit.
