Purchasing a Coke from a roadside vendor on the road from Manila to Banawe. The trip by bus took ten and a half hours and a coke was a welcome diversion. Coke and all other soft drinks exist almost extensively in bottle form. In the Philippines pop bottles are worth more than the fluid itself. When purchasing a drink to go, the bottle must be returned to the vendor. The Filipino's solve this problem by pouring the drink into a small clear plastic bag and putting a straw in it.
