We left Oklahoma City at 7:00 PM. Due to a shortage of people on the plane I was forced to accept a free upgrade to first class. :-) Sunset was at about 7:00pm and I would not see the sun again until landing at Taipei. The flight from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles International Airport was uneventful. Kurt met me at LA and we went to the Malaysian Air Terminal located several buildings away. We boarded a Boeing 747 for the flight to Taipei. The flight to Taipei took 15-17 hours; we lost track and couldn't decide. The flight had some delay due to excessive winds over the sea of Japan.
Upon our arrival in Taipei we were personally escorted through the large airport terminal by a representative of the airport. All other passengers from our flight were split off to other destinations, leaving Kurt and I as the only two people following the guide. We arrived at the Eva air terminal where the airline representative greeted us by name. He checked our passports and quickly seated up on our flight to Manila. Eva Air gave out and mailed postcards so we wrote and mailed several cards on the flight.
